Meet Kim

I'm a Paediatric Occupational Therapist based in Mackay Queensland, who has a strong passion for working with families with young children and help improve their lives through connection, confidence and creativity.

Here's a little bit about me...

  • I have worked with children, youth and families since 2016 who have experienced issues around behaviour, mental health and complex family dynamics. This is where I recognised the strong correlation with trauma and neurodivergence. I have a. strong empathy for the children I worked with during that time, and recognise that under any challenging behaviour is a strong desire for connection.

  • I worked in clinical hand therapy between 2018 and 2020 where my love of delivering quality education to others grew. I have also been fortunate enough to have some opportunities for educating and tutoring sessions with occupational therapy students.

  • I am a Neurodivergent therapist, a term I prefer over the plethora of clinical labels I would otherwise have to my name.

  • It's my desire to bring more joy and connection to families' everyday lives. I hope to empower parents with practical and meaningful education, so that they can navigate the health system more confidently and advocate for them, and their child's needs.

  • I am a lover of music, art, gardening and craft. I'm a self-taught musician [for the most part!] in a variety of instruments including keyboard, guitar and ukulele and have a deep love for the bass guitar. It is my most favourite instrument and I absolutely love being a bass player!

  • I grew up in a small town in Gippsland, a beautiful regional area in SE Victoria, and love the small town life but now am following the sunshine up in Tropical North Queensland with my partner and 3 cats.
