WHAT DOES AN OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST FOCUS ON TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD?
My aim in any of my services is to identify the struggles that directly relate to you, not what others say you should be working on. I focus on practical, meaningful and achievable goals that are relevant to you and your life. Such as...

-
emotional regulation
-
self-help skills and routines
-
social skills and behaviour
-
sensory processing difficulties
FAQ'S
-
What is occupational therapy?Occupational therapy is an allied health profession often recommended by a GP or other health professional when your child is experiencing difficulty in their daily life with tasks such as mealtimes, getting dressed, routines, toileting etc. Basically anything you need to do, have to do, or want to do, is an occupation - so we are very diverse! Most OT's who work with children support sensory processing needs and self regulation, building independence, and learning through play.

How can occupational therapy help my childOccupational therapists are trained with a holistic view of the child in mind, so are a very beneficial profession to get in touch with if you have a wide array of concerns for your child. We also understand daily occupations better than any other professional and can see where therapy from other professionals can be more routinely enhanced throughout the day.

What areas do you support?I support neurodivergent children and families. I don't exclusively support children, as I thoroughly enjoy building the skills of the parent as well. I also support neurodivergent teens and adults looking to improve their daily life through practical and neuroaffirming goals and strategies to suit their unique needs.

How do i know we are the *right fit* to work together? This can definitely be more of a mutual feeling if this is working well. I will identify that I am a major advocate for neuroaffirming practice, and value a collaborative working approach. If your gut is telling you things aren't feeling right, I am here for you to safely voice your opinions and work out a most suitable option. I understand I will not be the right fit for everyone and that is okay by me.
